The Structr Companion is an AI assistant with home advantage: the open-source platform Structr, in development for 15 years. It does not generate code you have to maintain afterwards – it builds your application as graph structures on a foundation where security, processes and user interfaces are already solved.

Code generation only ever sees a slice of your system. Architecture, invariants, data model assumptions, security boundaries – the broader context collapses, and the model fills the gaps with statistically likely guesses. Gartner calls the result “context-deficient code”: locally plausible, wrong in the system.

The answer
A graph is context, made explicit
Context is exactly what a graph represents best: entities, relationships, rules and permissions as explicit, connected structures – machine-readable and always up to date. Nothing implicit, nothing guessed. The Companion does not infer your system from a code snippet – it reads and writes the actual model.
And it scales differently: with code generation, every new requirement interacts with the entire codebase – the effort grows roughly quadratically with the project. Graph operations stay local – complexity grows with your requirements, not with everything you have built before.
