Since 2007, the platform urlaubsarchitektur.de has showcased architecturally outstanding holiday homes across Europe.
Today, 550 holiday homes, family-run hotels and guesthouses meet its demanding concept, which puts the architectural and design quality and the individuality of each property first. Beyond these core requirements, compelling tourism content, local and social responsibility and sustainability are decisive criteria for admitting new partner properties to the network.
On the one hand, URLAUBSARCHITEKTUR acts as a gallery that brings lovers and builders of first-class architecture together for the length of a holiday. On the other, the platform fosters a lively exchange within the network through workshops, partner meetings and consulting services.
URLAUBSARCHITEKTUR helps rent out dream houses through recommendations and does not act as a booking platform. Hosts and guests always communicate directly. To help its partners manage their communication and bookings more effectively, the team developed this tool together with Structr, based on its extensive experience and expertise.

Challenge
The holiday homes listed on the URLAUBSARCHITEKTUR platform are one of a kind and often unconventional, which places special demands on how their owners manage them.
The main requirement for a booking management system was a high degree of flexibility, to do justice to the unique features of each house and its particular booking processes. The system also had to be compact, simple and intuitive, to make administrative tasks easier for its users.
Besides individual management by the owners, the system was also to manage the occupancy of all URLAUBSARCHITEKTUR properties centrally, show availability on the platform and make it easier to search for free dates.
Another key requirement was the connection to external systems, so that occupancy data can be imported through calendar interfaces.
Finally, the system had to deliver information in real time, available at any moment.
Solution
The core requirement for the new system was the comprehensive management of holiday homes and accommodations, including occupancy management and related tasks such as invoicing, booking requests, communication with prospects and tenants, and the handling of rental tasks.
In addition, an interface was needed to provide booking and occupancy information to other technical consumers.
The booking management system developed together with Structr enables every host to manage accommodations, guests, prices, invoices and booking calendars independently.
The solution also gives users the ability to collect and analyse statistics from the database in order to track occupancy more effectively.

Within just a few months, a flexible and dynamic management solution was developed that meets most of the requirements of property owners and managers – from scheduling and email communication to payment management.
This innovative system combines cutting-edge technologies such as low-code and graph technology with apps tailored specifically to the needs of the target group.
With the Structr solution, the platform's partners can now design their booking management individually and thus simplify their administrative tasks. In addition, the URLAUBSARCHITEKTUR portal gives users insight into occupancy data, including availability calendars and queries, as well as a robust payment system.
The booking system is continuously being extended in consultation with the URLAUBSARCHITEKTUR partners. The next version is set to introduce a booking front end for guests.
